PROGRAM GOALS

As an Art Educator I Will...

Provide a safe and productive space where all students have the opportunity to express themselves freely.

Model respect for materials, students, colleagues, and myself.

Encourage personal reflection and growth by creating thought provoking lesson plans that generate important class discussion.

Create a positive student/teacher relationship with all students.  

Encourage students to use their imagination/ creativity and explore without the fear of failure.

Expose students to various materials (encouraging the use of recycled and sustainable materials) and art forms to form a deeper connection to art making.

Be flexible and adaptable to reach the needs of all my students.

Teach the power of art by exposing students to valuable art history lessons to demonstrate how art is everything and can truly change the world.

Advocate for art education by displaying art projects around the community, integrating art with other subjects, and celebrating the arts whenever possible.

Grow as an educator by continuing my own artist practice and participating in professional development.
